So this is what you do in your spare time - sneaking off to relive old glories in the re-incarnated Stackridge.
And I hope you're ashamed of yourself - making grown men cry when you launched into the Volunteer and uttered those immortal words "hands of cocks and on with socks". It's not a pretty sight watching 50+ year olds turn into fawning teenagers.
Seriously though it was great and to all out there see Stackridge if you can - they're marvellous.
PS not impressed that your next visit to Taunton with the Fabulous Scrotes coincides with me finding myself in Burton on Trent for the weekend - bugger!

I was a member of the fabled LLDS too. And I was there at
Clitheroe. I remember sheltering under a BP banner loaned by
Sue's (now my ex wife) Dad. Can't see through your nom de plume
(though it rings bells from the dim and distant past). What
about Gandalf, Chris Fitz and the others? Did you see Stackridge
at the Stoneground in Manchester (another pre show footie
match). Let there be lids!
Good on you, Mutter, for keeping the music going. Still got an
autographed drumstick from Mr.Sparkle somewhere. Desperate for a
CD of Stackridge (the first album) Friendliness and/or The Man
in the...etc.

Elijah - the years have not been kind! your prose
has stirred my thrashing juices - Mutter et al lifting the
"lids" off Kitson College is pure memory massage. Befriending
social sec. in order to get close to our heroes - should have
been ashamed. Sex and Flags - nice collection eh? Think I'll go
home and give Dora a spin round the room. It must be time for
bed!!
Keep on clucking

Just listening to the 'new'
Stackridge 'Sex and Flags' CD, Fathers Day present. If i could
turn back the clock to Cleethorpes Winter Gardens, Mutter and
Stackridge on top form ( but NOT at darts in the pub prior to
the gig !!) i would be a happy (old) man.
Wonderful memories, thanks Mutter, you were the BEST front man
around.Best of luck to you all. 'Sliding down the razorblade of
love' playing at the moment. Thunderstorm outside, heck !!!
Come on Barnstoneworth !!!

Seems a million years since attending all those
gigs and playing drunken footy with the band..... At Clitheroe
festival, we were all in the pub when the tannoy started calling
the missing stackridge to the stage.
Leeds Lummy Days Society, LLDS was a transparent ruse to get
officialish access to a minibus. And drink beer, thrash rhubard,
flonk dwiles, bash lids.
I realise that's all well in the past, but, having just
unearthed an old tape, i'm immersed in a gloop of nostralgia,
like neuralgia, but snotty.
Ho, what fun. And if any other LLDS veterans happen along, leave
a message.

Hope to catch the band tomorrow at the Ropemakers
when we pass through on our way back to Debon. A few gigs across
the border would be nice.

Now look here Slater have you got any control over
this 'ere band of yours or not?
I mean 3/5ths seem to have been moonlighting at Trowbridge last
weekend in the guise of the Ben Waters Band.
Shameful I say - where's the loyalty these days.
Get a grip on them for goodness sake and work them harder!

Searching for Stackridge

Hi, Mutter, it's good to know you are still around
- I had the time of my life watching Stackridge gigs at the "Black
Swan" and City Hall in Sheffield all those years ago. I still
treasure my signed (by you, Mike, Andy, Crun, Billy Sparkle and
Jimmy - what a supergroup!)flyer for "Slark". Your comment was
"much love and socks" - the same to you mate. Please put a list of
gigs on your website - I'm sure it'll be worth the trip!

Hello Mutter
Great to see that you are still in the business - old rockers
never die eh!
Saw Stackridge more times than I can remember - never a dull or
bad moment. Happiest times of my life were thrashing rhubarb or
banging lids or .. well, just watching and listening to
Stackridge. You obviously won't remember but I got to speak to you
on a number of occasions and once looked after a girlfriend of
yours (NO not like that) when you were playing in the Town Hall at
Cheltenham!!
I spend a lot of time in Dorset on breaks from the job out here -
I will definitely be tracking Little Dixie down.
All the best

Hi Mutter,
I'm pleased to see you're still around making music. When the
original Stackridge broke up (which I found a real shame at the
time, and still do) I had always wondered what had happened to
you, and of course due to modern technology (the computer and the
internet) it was possible to answer my question. I hope you enjoy
yourself in the "Little Dixie" band, you certainly gave me a lot
of enjoyment all those years ago on stage with Stackrigde ( in my
eyes one of the best bands ever). What would Stackridge have done
without you.
If ever you're in my neck of the woods you're welcome to pop in
for a pint (a pint of Dutch beer of course). Cheers and all the
best Dave Richardson.
P.S. Hope you enjoyed your honeymoon.

Dear Y'all,
Things are rather slow and gigs very sparse for the month or so.
Some of the boys are off to Germany with other more well organised
outfits, and Linda and I are heading for Cuba on the 14th of Feb
for our official honeymoon. So yah boo and sucks to the lot of
you.
I promise to get the gig machine rolling when we return ( Linda
says once a month is no good for any woman!) Here are Little Dixie
and jam dates for the next few weeks. Aaron (my little boy) has
rather brilliantly got the web page up and running and is only too
pleased to feature any gastly pictures you may have of the band.
Alan 'The Marz' Hewson has already sent some taken a couple of
years back so they will be nailed to the wall with the rest of the
rogue's gallery very shortly.
Yoiks and indeed Tally-ho!
Mutter.
